Book: Woven by Fate (ARC)

Author: Autumn Hawthorne

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5

Woven by Fate is the debut standalone novel by Autumn Hawthorne. While a standalone, it will be a part of an inter-connected world. It releases on Paperback and Kindle Unlimited on February 12, 2025.

This Sci-Fi-esque, Post-Earth, Romantasy book was honestly nothing like what I expected it to be, probably because it is such a hard book to fit into one specific category. It's a hodge-podge of all the best aspects of so many different genres and types of books. It was such a fun read with emersive world building, and intricate magic system, and, of course, a swoon-worthy enemies-to-lovers plot.

Xavier and Celeste are our main characters in this standaone. Both are AMAZING characters. For starters, Celeste was such a refreshing FMC. It was so nice to see a plus-sized, curvy girl who is confident in her size and not ashamed of her curves. As a fellow curvy girl, it was so great to see. And Xavier... Xavier was a grumpy, dark and broody, tattooed, magic weilding masterpiece. He has all the potential to be the next great BookTok book-boyfriend. And the side characters were given the same thought and care in their execution as our MCs.

The world-building was absolutely incredible. Granted, a bit confusing to keep up with in the beginning, as with most fantasy books with intricate world building. It was beautifully done, and I'm very excited to see how it unfolds further in the authors next books in the interconnected world. The magic system and how it's tied to the gods is so beautiful and well thought out. It was so fun to learn more and more about it along side Celeste. And then, of course, there's the world building on the surface with the techologies which was just as other-worldly and intricate.

The storyline was new and refreshing, the plot delicately crafted. It was an incredible read from start to finish, and the more I learned about the world, the more I wanted to know.

I'm so excited to see what else this author releases.

Do yourself a favor, and pick up a copy of Woven by Fate when it comes out. It might surprise you.
