Book: Butcher and Blackbird
Author: Brynne Weaver
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Such a fun book! I loved all the banter between the characters! It was a great read and perfect for Halloween, what with the serial killer aspects.
I do wish that they had explored a bit more of Sloane’s background. I feel like there was still a lot of unanswered questions in that regard. Why did she have a bad relationship with her parents, how does Lark know about her “extracurricular activities”, how did Lark’s family become Sloane’s, to name a few. And yes, I know that these were briefly touched on in one chapter, but I want DETAILS!
I look forward to reading the rest of the trilogy, just not right away. I think I’m going to be taking a small step away from the series to read some other books before diving into book two.
Overall, I really loved this book! The steamy slow burn was perfect! As was, as I said before, the banter! I’m a sucker for good bantering and this book did not disappoint in that aspect!
Let me know if you'd be interested in a full on spoiler review of this book!
