2024 was a pretty big year for me. There were a lot of changes, both personal, and here with my bookish-persona. So let's dive into a short little recap, because none of this would be possible without you.

Deciding to fully commit to creating content for my bookstagram... again.
If you've been around for a while, you'll know that I initially started my page a few years ago, but due to being in university, I didn't have the time or enegery to maintain it regularly. It was always just something I would randomly come back to every once in a while when I was on break or just had some free time. Because of that, it was really hard to form connections, or really feel a part of the bookish community on there.
2024 was the year that I commited to being more regular on there and actually trying to establish a brand for myself. And so far, it's worked really well. After only a few months of consistency, I'm exactly where I've always wanted to be with my community. My followers are growing, and I'm actually forming connections with the people I'm meeting there. Establishing a presence on Threads has helped a lot as well!
I'm so grateful for the little community we've built together, and can't wait to see how it grows in the coming year!
Establishing the blog... also, again.
Again, if you've been here for a while, you'll know that this is not my first blog.
When I was first starting my bookstagram in the begining, it was summer break and I had high hopes for being able to maintain it at school. I quickly realized that wasn't going to happen, shut down the site, and let it be.
But my dream was always to have my own site where I could just word-vomit all my bookish thoughts, and connect even further with the community I hoped to grow.
I'm happy to say that that's exactly what's happened this time around. A complete revamp and rebrand later, and here we are. A website I'm really proud of, and the perfect space for me to share every weird, crazy, and delusional bookish thought that pops into my head!
The growth and outreach.
For such a small bookish account, less than a hundred followers on Threads and under three hundred on Instagram, I've been awarded some incredible opportunities this year!
Firstly, getting to connect with Indie Authors about their books. How such a small account has already attraacted Indie Authors asking me to read, review, and share their works, is completely beyond me.
I've also had the indredible opportunity more recently to get to be an ARC reader for the first time. Again, not sure how, but I'm so honored to have the opportunity to be on three different ARC teams heading into the new year! It's always been a huge dream of mine, every since I first learned the term, and for it to finally be a reality, especially with such a small community, is mind-boggling.
And the most recent update, being chosen to be a first time beta reader for a debut book. Again, being on a beta team is a long time dream of mine, and to be able to cross that off of my bucket list as we move into 2025 is incredible.
The opportunities that have been afforded to me this past year has been so much more than I ever could have dreamed, especially with such a small community still. But I am so grateful for each and every one of them.
It really goes to show that follower count isn't everything, so long as you put in the work to make your hopes and dreams come true.
I know that none of this would be possible without the 270 of you who have chosen to follow me on my journey. So I'm incredibly thankful for you, too. Thank you for deciding that my content was worth following. Thank you for listen to me rant about books. And thank you for being a part of my community.
I can't wait to see what 2025 has in store. I know it will be amazing.
